Xiaomi Redmi Pro Confirmed to Sport Deca- Core MediaTek Helio X25 SoC

Xiaomi has released a new teaser for the
launch of its flagship Redmi smartphone
on Wednesday next week, called Redmi
Pro. The teaser confirms the smartphone
will be powered by a deca-core MediaTek
Helio X25.

Posted on Chinese social networking site
Weibo by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, the teaser
(seen below) plainly states the smartphone
will sport a deca-core MediaTek Helio X25
SoC. In another post, he also revealed that
the Redmi Pro is the flagship of the Redmi
lineup.

To recall, Xiaomi had earlier this week
confirmed the Redmi Pro smartphone will
be launching at a July 27 event in Beijing, China.

The company went on to tease the
presence of a deca-core SoC and Oled
display on the Redmi Pro.
So far, not much else is known about the
Redmi Pro smartphone - there have been
rumours it sports a metal unibody design,
dual rear cameras, 3GB or 4GB of RAM,
and a fingerprint scanner on the home
button.

In other Xiaomi news from this week,
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the
company had managed to ship 1.5 million
units of the Mi Max ( Review) phablet since
its launch two months ago. The 1.5 million
units shipped figure came from analyst
Kevin Wang on Chinese social network
Weibo, and his post reposted by Xiaomi
CEO Lei Jun - pretty much confirming the
credibility of the number. Wang added that
similar large-sized smartphones in 2015
saw a maximum of 300,000 units being
shipped - contrasting the wild popularity of
the Mi Max.
