Must Read : My NYSC Tale With The Fulani Girl Part1

I'm a copa serving @ a hospital in
adamawa, I am nt a doctor but I hv little experienc in medical practice cos of my prior trainin as a CHEW( community hlth worker ).

befor i became a medical lab scientist … Its a knwn prblm dt medical wrkers are deficient ol over the country , its even worst in dt hspital , somtimes I
do hlp d drs see sm minor ailments in the consultin room ……………………… .

I see ol age ranges dat cuts cross across both males and females, I wrk mnday- Friday but mndays r usually the must hectic becaus they are the days wen u get 2 shout and talk more, its difficult cntrollin crowd on such days .

I was in the cnsultin room one fateful
mnday wen dis lady came in without knockin jst to infrm me dt her mum is
coughin , ‘for heavens sake so many pple r coughin hw is this cough an emergency?

get out ’ I shouted , without lookin up … the next tin I heard ws a cry ‘ dr my mum is coughin blood ’ she said, then I looked up and saw a tall , fair Fulani gurl wearin a hijab - this is hw I met d lady .

Nafisa is the gurls name , its difficult to capture and write hw beautiful the gurl is but to put it short she is the actual definition of beauty in the eyes of everybody, it ws wen I saw her that I agreed with the pple who captioned adamawa as the land of beauty .

She is a 19 yr old gurl who has spent the majority/ if not all of her life at home under strict supervision in accordance with religious/ Fulani practice of purdah . Nafisa is only
aloud to hospital and relative houses
during ceremonies, she only has a primary school lvn certificate , can speak hausa fluently with a little of English which is the reverse in my own case.

The way I left the consultin room to see the mother was as if the gurl commanded me to , I rushed outside saw her coughin blood and then left immediately to inform the medical drs abt her condition cos coughin blood is beyond me as a lab scientist .. the mother was admitted into the hospital for treatment and further evaluation.

They stayed in the hospital for a total of 8 days , those remarkable 8 days of my my life- I wil never forget…
